It's fun being here in Atlantic Canada. It's beautiful and we speak the same language--most of the time. When meeting someone new, we never know what to expect. It's always fun to hear different accents, from Newfoundlanders to British to Australian. Sister Street is a service missionary serving in the office with us and used to live in the Sackville ward. In addition to all the things she does in the office, she and her family delight us with their way

There is a heavy French influence in parts of the mission. We got a kick our of the sister who referred to a book she got at Deser-ay (Deseret) Book.
Yes, many Canadians say out more like oot, but we've heard everything from oot to ot to out, sometimes in the same words, kind of a sliding oo-o-out. The same goes for similar words like house and about.

One more favorite thing from last winter: we were amazed to see Bobcats (machines, not animals) driving on the freeway after a snowstorm. They weren't plowing, just moving the machines from one location to another. They do love their Bobcats here in the winter. We also heard what sounded like thunder and realized it was the snowplows keeping the parking lots and roads clean. They do an amazingly good job of that.
And of course, we wouldn't be a mission without missionaries . . .

We recognize that indoor lighthouse. Neat, but not as unique as what sits outside the building...
